With its wings gently spread wide open, you can see all the brilliant colors and patterns of this beautiful mantis. It is no mystery why the common name of this specimen is The Jeweled Flower Mantis. This piece makes a wonderful addition to any entomology collection.
Growing to about two inches in length, this stunningly beautiful mantis in resin (Creobroter gemmatus) can be found living in humid regions. They are widespread in Asia. Females can be cannibalistic, although not common, it is more likely with this particular species of mantis.
As with all insect specimens; size, shape, and coloration can slightly vary. Lucite block measures approximately 2 3/4 inches by 1 1/2 inches.
