This real rat skeleton has been whitened and meticulously cleaned, allowing even the smallest of details and bones to be inspected and studied. It is encased in resin, allowing it to be viewed and from all angles.
This real rat skeleton in resin is a common rat, also known as the brown rat (Rattus norvegicus). Its habitat is widespread and it is one of the largest rats, with its head and body reaching lengths of 11 inches. Selective breeding of the brown rat has produced what is called the fancy rat. Fancy rats are common among the pet trade.
As with all real skeletons in resin; size, coloring, and positioning can vary. Resin block measures approximately 7 1/2 inches wide by 3 1/4 inches tall.
